FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – On Tuesday afternoon, the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) announced its Academic All-District teams for cross country and track and field. Nova Southeastern is headlined by ten honorees.
On the women's side,
Ally Jakubiak,
Leena Saidi,
Jillian Thorning,
Bella Ascone,
Bridget McGrath and
Aaliyah Jordan were all named as CSC Academic All-District selections. While the four selections from the men's teams were
Marc Gonzalez,
Julian Granville,
Dimitri Kates and
Marcus Marek Tortorella.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be nominated for track and field or cross country, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better, and be ranked within the top 50 at regionals for cross country or in the top 50 of the regional rankings in a single event for track and field.
Of the ten Shark selections,
Jillian Thorning has been marked as eligible to be named a CSC Academic All-American which would be announced in July while members of the CSC vote on All-America status.
Thorning was named an All-American in the fall becoming the first NSU All-American in cross country.
