FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern Women's Soccer head coach Amy Vaughan has stepped down from her position as head coach to accept a new coaching role within the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

"We are incredibly grateful to Amy for everything she has done for our women's soccer program. Her leadership, commitment to our student-athletes, and the culture she helped build have made a lasting impact on NSU Women's Soccer," Nova Southeastern University Interim Athletics Director Ryan Romero said. "We are proud of what Amy and her staff accomplished during her time here, and we wish her nothing but the best as she takes this exciting next step in her career."

Coach Vaughan will become an assistant coach for the NWSL's North Carolina Courage based in Cary, N.C.

Vaughan is one of the most accomplished coaches in Nova Southeastern history, guiding the Sharks to a 36-12-9 record across three seasons at the helm including the program's first Sunshine State Conference regular season and tournament championship.

Vaughan and her staff won the SSC's Staff of the Year honors and went undefeated in the regular season in 2025 ending the year at 16-1-4.

Women's soccer begins its season on Aug. 27 against Georgian Court at NSU Soccer Stadium at 4 p.m.

An announcement regarding this upcoming season's head coach will be made in the coming days. Nova Southeastern University remains committed to building on the strong foundation established and continuing the tradition of excellence in women's soccer.
