KENDALL, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Women's Soccer team earned a 3-2 victory over Barry University on Wednesday evening at MDC Soccer Stadium. The Sharks struck first, Barry briefly took the lead, and Nova Southeastern equalized before halftime before Genesis Hernandez scored the eventual game-winning goal in the second half.

• Nova Southeastern opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when Lova Korpas found the back of the net off an assist from Valeria Vasquez Hernandez, giving the Sharks a 1-0 lead.
• Barry responded with two goals in a span of just 23 seconds late in the first half, taking a 2-1 advantage after goals from Olivia Bradley in the 36th minute and Ida Mattsson in the 36th minute.
• The Sharks answered before halftime, as Kristina Syragakis scored in the 43rd minute with assists from Maja Isaksson and Genesis Hernandez to level the match at 2-2 heading into the break.
• Nova Southeastern regained the lead in the 54th minute when Genesis Hernandez converted a chance created by Maria Jansen, putting the Sharks ahead 3-2.
• The Sharks' defense and goalkeeper held off Barry's late pressure, with Gretchen Duttenhofer making three saves in the final 10 minutes to preserve the one-goal victory.
The Sharks will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 26, as they continue Sunshine State Conference play against the Florida Southern Mocs. The contest will be played at Barnett Athletic Complex in Lakeland, Fla., with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
