LAKELAND, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Women's Soccer team battled Florida Southern to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at Berend Field in Sunshine State Conference action. The Sharks took the lead in the first half on an own goal before Florida Southern found the equalizer in the second half.

• Nova Southeastern opened the scoring in the 28th minute when an own goal gave the Sharks a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
• Florida Southern nearly equalized early in the second half, hitting the woodwork twice in a span of 11 seconds before Isabella Payne broke through in the 60th minute to level the match at 1-1.

The Sharks will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 30, for Senior Night as they continue Sunshine State Conference play against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish. The contest will be played at Amerant Bank Field at NSU Soccer Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
