No. 27 Women's Tennis Downs No. 34 Palm Beach Atlantic 7-2 in Regular-Season Finale

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Apr. 10, 2010) - No. 27 Nova Southeastern University women's tennis finished the regular season with a 7-2 win at Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday morning. The Sharks (7-11 overall) won five singles and two doubles.

NSU won the top two doubles matches. At the No. 1 slot, Justine Feaster (So., Escondido, Calif.) and Karolina Porizkova (Sr., Prostejov, Czech Republic) topped Lina Rubiano and Natalia Trotter 8-2. Mary Crider (Sr., Georgetown, Texas) and Paige Lindsley (Jr., Albuquerque, N.M.) posted an 8-5 victory over Amber Braaten and Natalie Aleman at No. 2 doubles. Palm Beach Atlantic's Jordan Ittersagen and Krishna Domenech scored the team's only point during doubles play with an 8-4 win over Blake Bauer (Fr., Miami, Fla.) and Federica Longo (Fr., Buenos Aires, Argentina) at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Porizkova defeated Aleman 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Feaster had a three-set 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Trotter at No. 3 singles, while Crider downed Braaten 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 slot. Lindsley posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ittersagen in the No. 5 position, while Longo got past Domenech 6-0, 7-6 (3) at No. 6 singles.

Palm Beach Atlantic's (10-9 overall) second point of the match came as Rubiano defeated Elisa Leeder (Sr., Eisenhuettenstadt, Germany) 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 at No. 1singles.

NSU's season continues this week as the Sharks compete at the 2010 Sunshine State Conference Championships. The Sharks are seeded sixth for the tournament. Check back to nsuathletics.nova.edu for the match time.
