FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women’s basketball team (7-3, 0-1 SSC) looks to redeem themselves in conference play as the Sharks battle Florida Tech (12-2, 1-1 SSC) in a midweek matchup on Wednesday, Jan. 5th at 5:30 p.m. at the NSU Arena in the Don Taft University Center.
The Sharks lost their first SSC game a month ago on Dec. 4th to Rollins, 87-61.

Stephanie Sarosi (Mims, Fla.) is currently the conference leader in points (16.7 ppg) and blocked shots (3.0 bpg). The center is second in total rebounds per game (8.4) and offensive rebounds per game (3.2).

Abbie Tepe is another player impacting the conference with her play. The Cincinnati, Ohio native is second in assists per game (6.1) and steals per game (3.8).
Overall the team is third in the SSC averaging 71.4 ppg. With the help of Sarosi and freshman
Jasmine Wilkins (Miami, Fla.), the Sharks lock up the top spot with 6.2 blocked shots per game.
About Florida Tech
The Panthers enter tomorrow matchup tying Rollins with 12 wins to lead the conference. Florida Tech stumbled in its last SSC game against Florida Southern on Sunday falling to the Mocs, 78-57.
Kristen Dixon, Briauna Hagins and Lynisha Nelson led the Panthers with 12 points each. Hagins also tracked down 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. The loss snapped an eight game winning streak for the Panthers.
Nelson edges out Tepe for first with 4.1 steals per game and sits fifth in the SSC averaging 15.3 ppg.
Florida Tech averages 71.1 ppg and only allows its opponents to score 56.4 ppg.

The matchup will mark the 26th meeting between the teams. The Panthers have an 18-7 advantage over NSU. Despite the Sharks dropping both games last season, the NSU senior class is 4-2 versus Florida Tech.
