Tennis Concludes its Road Trip at Tampa

The Sharks own a 9-1 All-Time Series Record against the Spartans

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A day after upsetting the No.26 Saint Leo Lions for its first league win, the No. 31 Nova Southeastern University women’s tennis team finishes its two match conference road trip against the No. 41 Tampa Spartans (0-4, 0-3 SSC) Sunday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. in Tampa, Fla.

The Sharks come off a, 6-3, victory against Saint Leo on Saturday, Feb. 19. The NSU doubles teams remain unbeaten on the season by winning all nine of their matches. NSU had been led by senior Paige Lindsley (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Paige Lindsley (So., Williamston, Mich.) who, as a team, have won all three of their doubles matches this season.

In singles action against the Lions, Lindsley and Blake Bauer (So., Miami, Fla.) maintained their undeafeated streaks each winning their third straight match. Against SLU, junior Dominique Wimmer (Guntramsdorf, Austria) won her first match in the No. 1 spot as a Shark.

The Sharks have won six straight against the Spartans dating back to 2004 while also owning a, 9-1, all-time series edge. NSU defeated Tampa, 9-0, last season at the NSU Tennis Complex on Feb. 13, 2010.

Tampa comes off a, 7-2, loss against Florida Southern on Feb. 15 in Tampa, Fla.
