FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 20 Nova Southeastern University women’s tennis team (9-8, 4-2 SSC) lost its second straight match of the season to No. 9 Rollins (15-4, 5-1 SSC), 7-2, on Sunday, April 3 at the NSU Tennis Complex.

The duo of Daria Burobina (Fr., Moscow, Russia) and Paige Lindsley (Sr., Albuquerque, N.M.) captured the lone victory in doubles for the Sharks. Oksana Krutiyenko (Sr., Novo Kahovka, Ukraine) and Kamryn Blackwood (Fr., Farmington, N.M.) faced Margaret Junker and Kayli Ragsdale in the No. 1 spot. Justine Feaster (Jr., Carrollton, Texas) and Austin Lavallii (So., Williamston, Mich.) battled in the beginning of their match in No. 2 doubles, but lost their rhythm at the end to lose, 8-4.

In singles, Lindsley captured the only singles win for the Sharks. The junior battled Stefania Tkach in the No. 3 spot where they went back and forth the entire match. Lindsley prevailed late in both sets to earn the win, 7-5, 7-5.

Lavallii fought back from a first set deficit to even her match at a set apiece after the second set victory of 6-2 over Marisa Smith in the No. 4 slot. Lavallii could not maintain her momentum in the third set, eventually falling 6-3, 2-6, 6-0.

Blake Bauer (So., Miami, Fla.) and Burobina each lost their matches, 6-2, 6-1. Bauer lost in the No. 5 spot to Ashley Rosenberg while Burobina fell to Lisa Loft in the No. 2 spot.

Dominique Wimmer (Jr., Guntramsdorf, Austria) caught herself in a hole in both of her sets in her singles match and was unable to overcome them, eventually losing to Junker in the No. 1 spot, 6-3, 6-1. Federica Longo (So., Buenos Aires, Argentina) rounded out the Sharks singles matches, falling to Ragsdale, 6-3, 6-4, in the No. 6 slot.
