No. 20 NSU Women’s Tennis Hosts No. 4 Barry in Final Home Stand

Senior Day Activities will Begin Prior to the Match

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 20 Nova Southeastern women’s tennis team (9-8, 4-2 SSC) host the No. 4 Barry Buccaneers (16-1, 6-1 SSC) in its season finale on Thursday, April 6 at the NSU Tennis Complex at 3 p.m.

Prior to the match, the NSU women’s tennis program will honor its three seniors during the annual senior day activities.

Last time out, senior Paige Lindsley (Albuquerque, N.M.) won both of her matches against No. 9 Rollins. Lindsley teamed with Daria Burobina (Fr., Moscow, Russia) to win their doubles match against Roshni Luthera and Allie Steele of No. 9 Rollins, 9-8, in No. 3 doubles. Lindsley also captured the only singles victory for the Sharks against Stefania Tkach in the No. 3 spot, 7-5, 7-5. Despite Lindsley’s efforts the Sharks were unable to overcome the Tars as they fell, 7-2, at the NSU Tennis Complex on Sunday, April 3.

This match marks the eighth time the Sharks and Buccaneers have met on the tennis court with Barry owning the all-time series edge 5-2. NSU last defeated then ninth ranked Barry on April 4, 2009 at the NSU Tennis Complex, 7-2.

Barry has had a near perfect season, only to be blemished by No. 3 Lynn on Monday, April 4, 6-3. The Buccaneers are led by Barbi Pocza. Pocza is nationally ranked eighth in singles while also being ranked No. 33 in her doubles team with Angie Wershel.

NSU posts a 2-4 record at home while Barry is perfect on the road at 7-0.
