BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s basketball team (16-9, 8-7 SSC) carried a six-point lead at halftime and extended it to 10 by the final horn to top the Lynn Fighting Knights (12-13, 7-8 SSC), 66-56, in the Sharks final road contest of the 2011-12 campaign.

The Sharks then went on an 8-0 run over the next 2:30, capped by a Robinson trey to give NSU a 20-12 lead at the second media timeout. Lynn rallied back into the game though, outscoring the Sharks 14-4 over a 5:14 stretch to get within one, 30-29. NSU scored the final five points of the half, highlighted by a 3-pointer from the top of the key by
Jessica Russi (So., Lake Mary, Fla.) to take a 35-29 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Jada Buckner (Sr., Loudon, Tenn.) triple, set up by Porter, put NSU back up five.
NSU gradually rebuilt its lead, going up by 11 with 8:51 to play, as
Quinessa Johnson (Sr., West Chester, Ohio) dropped in a layup. Russi maintained the 11-point lead for NSU, twice scoring buckets in response to Lynn made baskets.
Jessica Walter (Sr., Knoxville, Tenn.) put the Sharks up 13 with a pair from the charity stripe with just over two minutes left to play. The advantage would be 10 points when the final buzzer sounded, giving NSU a 66-56 victory.
