Tennis Returns to SSC Competition

Sharks to host Florida Southern on Thursday.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 17 Nova Southeastern tennis team (6-8, 2-3 SSC) will return to Sunshine State Conference play this week, as the Sharks host the No. 20 Florida Southern Mocs (8-5, 1-4 SSC) Thursday at 2 p.m. before traveling to St. Leo, Fla. for a match against the No. 7 Saint Leo Lions (12-2, 4-1 SSC) at noon.

The Sharks have not competed in a SSC match since Feb. 27 and have three conference battles left. The Sharks are currently under .500 in the SSC, but have a chance to make a run late and claim a top-four seed in the SSC Tournament next month. The Sharks will also be looking to improve upon their regional record, with four region matches remaining this season.

Florida Southern comes into the match with an underwhelming conference record, but will ride a six-match winning streak when they come to the NSU Tennis Complex. Saint Leo is also on a six-match winning streak, and their only two losses this season have come against No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic and No. 4 Barry.
