Baseball Sharks To Host St. Thomas Tuesday

Kline scheduled to start Sharks' final out-of-conference matchup of the season

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern baseball team will have their final scheduled out-of-conference and mid-week game on Tuesday, when they host the St. Thomas Bobcats at the NSU Baseball Complex.

The Sharks (20-13) are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, 6-2 and 7-1, with the third scheduled game of the series getting rained out twice. The wins snapped a three-game losing streak for the team, who faced and defeated St. Thomas earlier this season on the road, 6-2 on Feb. 12.

In that game, the Sharks broke open a 2-0 game with a three-run home run off the bat of Eric Acevedo (Sr., Miami) in the eighth and added an insurance run in their final at-bat. Carlos Asuaje (Jr., Weston, Fla.), Jose Rodriguez (Sr., Hialeah, Fla.), Brett Clements (Sr., Riverview, Fla.) and Brooks Fleming (Jr., Palm City, Fla.) each had two hits, and Shane Hill (Sr., Davie, Fla.) got the win in relief, as one of nine Shark pitchers to appear in the victory.

The Bobcats (30-12), an NAIA school out of Miami Gardens, have won three of their last four. Their last game was cancelled as well, scheduled for last Friday at home against Lindenwood.

First pitch for Tuesday night is scheduled for 6 p.m. Alexander Kline (Fr., Coral Springs, Fla.) is scheduled to make his first-ever collegiate start for the Sharks. Kline has appeared in six games this year, all in relief. Live audio and video will be available HERE and live stats HERE. Follow the NSU baseball team on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/NSU_Baseball.
