FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern track and field teams are set for a long weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga. This will be the Sharks’ last chance to try and qualify for nationals.
At the Multi-Cultural Invitational held at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Fla.
Ryan Jerothe (So., New Port Richey, Fla.) led the way for the Sharks as he tied his own school record that he set earlier this season at the Hurricane Invitational on March 15. His leap of 4.75 meters landed him in first place. Following behind Jerothe was teammate
Ian Towne (Jr., South Walton, Minn.) who came in third with a season-best jump of 4.45 meters.
The women's 4x400-meter relay continued their success, as the team of
Jessica Osteen (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.),
Quannisha Allen (Fr., St. Augustine, Fla.),
Monica Sapp (Fr., Miami, Fla.) and
Johniqua Stafford (Sr., Fort Worth, Texas) took a first-place finish with a time of 3:59.19.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of
Cameron Hemenez (So., Orlando, Fla.),
Talyn Washington (So., Royal Palm Beach, Fla.),
Robert Moise (Jr., Plantation, Fla.) and
Patrico Morency (So., Naples, Fla.) took a first place finish with a time of 3:17.18.

Men's long jump:
Uguens Decius (Fr., Pensacola, Fla.), 6.45 meters, seventh place
Men's triple jump:
Derrick Wood (Jr., Royal Palm Beach, Fla.), 13.48, fourth place
Men's 800-meter Run:
Uguens Decius (Fr., Miami, Fla.), 01:55.76, fourth place
Women's 400-meter Hurdles: Osteen, 1:01.85, second place
Women's 400-meter Dash: Allen, 57.53, fourth place
