FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.
- The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's soccer teams will begin their Sunshine State Conference road trips Wednesday at Rollins in Winter Park, Florida. The women will face the No. 13 ranked Tars at 4:30 p.m., followed by the men's clash at 7 p.m.

The women's soccer team (4-4-0, 1-3-0 SSC) will face their second ranked opponent in a row and third of the season when they travel to face the No. 13 Tars, previously facing No. 19 Tampa and No. 9 Barry. Redshirt junior forward Sierra Lelii's (Seminole, Fla.) 17 points, on seven goals and three assists so far this season, already places her 10th on the single-season points leaderboard since 2004. Lelii is currently fifth in the SSC in shots per game (4.50) and fourth in points per game (2.12).

Rollins (9-2-0, 4-1-0 SSC) is currently tied with now-No. 7 Barry atop the SSC standings, as each team has four wins and 12 points. Since falling to the Bucs on Oct. 4, the Tars have had wins over Lynn (3-1) and Saint Leo (4-1), the latter of which was ranked 23rd both before and after the match. Furthermore, Rollins is a perfect 6-0-0 on their home field, scoring 31 goals and allowing just three.

As a team, the Tars lead the SSC inboth goals and assists overall (42 and 46, respectively) and in-conference (19 and 25). They are also tied for second in the SSC in goals allowed both overall (eight) and in conference-only matches (five). Nationally, the Tars have the most assists per game (4.18) and total assists, and are second in goals per game (3.82) and points per game (11.82).

Individually, Rollins has four of the SSC's 10 point-scorers, and three of the top five; no other team has more than two of the top 10. They are led by the triple threat of Paxton Sickler (eight goals, eight assists, 24 points), Mora Johnson (eight goals, seven assists, 23 points), and Brenna McKee (six goals, 10 assists, 22 points), while Emma Bloom has contributed 17 points on six goals and five assists. McKee's 10 assists are also tied for second in the nation.

This is the fourth time the Sharks have played a top-10 Rollins squad since 2004. The last two such meetings, 2009, when Rollins was No. 9, and in 2010, when they were No. 4, both ended as 2-2 ties.

The men's soccer team (5-3-1, 2-2-0 SSC) rides a two-match SSC winning streak into Wednesday's crucial mid-table battle. After starting 0-2 in conference, the Sharks have rebounded with victories over Florida Southern, 3-1, and Barry, 1-0.

The Rollins Tars (6-4-1, 2-2-1 SSC) are riding momentum themselves, coming off a strong week against two of the conference's best teams. In the last week, Rollins drew with No. 9 Lynn, 2-2, and gave No. 3 Saint Leo its first defeat, 1-0.

Senior Defender Evan Greenabum received the SSC Offensive Player of the Week honor after scoring the game-winning goal in the Tars' 1-0 defeat of #3 Saint Leo. Freshman Goalkeeper Parker Sweeney surprised the league and earned SSC defensive honors in his first week of action. He preserved the tie against Lynn and made two saves in the team's marquee win of the season against Saint Leo. Sweeney is not the only strong goalkeeper the Tars have at their disposal, as Julian Grundler is second in the SSC with 42 saves before battling an injury this past week.

Rollins has a habit of stepping up in big matches, holding a 3-0-1 record against ranked opponents this season. However, Rollins has struggled to maintain that level of play consistently, going 3-4-0 against unranked teams. The Tars are 5-1-0 on their home field, the Barker Family Stadium, with the lone loss coming in the second overtime to Florida Tech.

The last time NSU faced Rollins, the Tars were ranked second in the nation and a favorite for the national title. However, the Sharks gave them a battle and scored three goals at home. Vincenzo Padula (Sr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) scored once and had an assist, while Stefano Fanfoni (Jr., Cremona, Italy) tied the single-game program record with three assists.
