FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Former Nova Southeastern University track and field runner Michael Wilson will be competing in the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games, representing Grenada, beginning Nov. 15 in Veracruz, Mexico.
Wilson is a former NSU sprinter who graduated after the spring of 2009. In 2009, Wilson was a provisional qualifier in both the 100 and 200-meter sprints, setting a new benchmark for sprinters at NSU. In the five years since graduating, Wilson has competed professionally in both events.
Williams will be one of two sprinters in the 100-meters from Grenada, running alongside teammate Paul Williams. Overall, 18 athletes will be competing from Grenada in games ranging from the decathlon to swimming and diving and lawn tennis. A total of 31 countries are scheduled to compete in this year's games.
