MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –
The No. 15 Nova Southeastern tennis team (8-3) extended its winning streak to six matches with an 8-1 win over the St. Thomas Bobcats (1-5) on the road Saturday.

The Sharks had a perfect day in doubles competition, going 3-0 to start the match. Sabrina Kierberg (So., Berlin, Germany) and Alex Kaeser (Fr., Woodstock, Ga.) continued to roll, defeating Tetiana Kovalska and Gabriella Bongiovanni, 8-5. NSU has won in the doubles top flight in every match during the current winning streak.

NSU made a change to its normal lineup in the second draw, with Alexandra Johansson (Jr., Sydney, Australia) and Iryna Serdyuk (So., Boca Raton, Fla.) teaming up for the first time this season. They duo won over Brigitte Bustimante and Monica Rekkedal, 8-1. The doubles sweep was complete when sophomores Linda Kornienko (Fort Myers, Fla.) and Juliet Serabian (Plantation, Fla.) defeated Lauren Lightfoot and Ashley Ahern, 8-1.

NSU's only knock came in the top draw of singles play, as Johansson took a tough loss to Kovalska, 6-0, 6-3. Kierberg extended her undefeated streak to 11 matches with a win over Bongiovanni, 6-2, 6-1. In the third flight, Carlee Rizzolo (So., Livingston, N.J.) defeated Rekkedal, 6-3, 6-0.

Serabian had the Sharks' widest margin of victory Saturday, double-bagelling Bustimante, 6-0, 6-0. Kornienko had a tight three-set match over Ahern, but came out victorious, 3-6, 6-3, 10-5. In the final draw, Bianca Roberts (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) defeated Lightfoot, 6-4, 6-2.

NSU will take the week off before continuing its out-of-conference road trip against Southeastern on May 15 at 1 p.m.
