FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
The Nova Southeastern University tennis team and coaching staff will be hosting Campus Kids' Day, a free event held in conjunction with the USTA, this upcoming Saturday, April 11 at the NSU Tennis Center at Rolling Hills.

Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. for the 9:00 event, which will last for about an hour. There will be clinics and fun games for the campers, according to NSU tennis head coach Stephen Schram, and Shark tennis student-athletes will interact with them on the courts prior to hosting Florida Southern at 11 a.m. In addition, food and other refreshments will be provided.

"Over 100 campuses nationwide host these Campus Kids' Days," said Schram. "It's a community service event and is also a learning and fun event for the children attending.

"It's a nice opportunity to get the community involved. Basically our role is to reach out to tennis clubs in the community to bring them to our campus. The ages could range from 5-6 to 15-16, beginning level to intermediate level."

The Sharks' (16-1, 6-1 SSC) match against FSC will be their final Sunshine State Conference contest of the regular season. The Mocs (6-12, 2-3 SSC) play Lynn on Friday before visiting the NSU Tennis Center Saturday morning. They last defeated Tampa for their second SSC win of the season, 6-3 on Tuesday, and come in having won four of their last six.

Magda Riutort is their top singles player with a 10-6 mark in the top draw and rankings of 36th in DII and No. 12 in the South Region, according to the ITA. She and Olivia Spagnuolo make up the No. 7 doubles combo in the region and are 10-7 this year, all in the No. 1 position.

NSU, ranked second in the South according to the NCAA on Wednesday, are coming off of their first loss of the season the night prior, to No. 2 Barry. Again, first serve this Saturday will be at 11 a.m., and campers are encouraged to attend and cheer on the Sharks.
