CLINTON, Miss. – The Nova Southeastern University men's soccer match against the Delta State Statemen was cancelled due to inclement weather in the 44th minute. The game ended with the Sharks leading 1-0, but not enough time passed in order for the game to be made official.
NSU, coming off a 3-1 win over Mississippi College, played a strong first half against the Statemen. The goal came around the 30th minute, when freshman
Nate Bladecki (Troy, Mich.) scored what would have been his first collegiate goal. The Sharks were aggressive throughout, with fellow newcomer
Faycal Oulahbib (Jr., Paris, France) hitting the post on two shots.
Lightning in the area pulled both teams off the field in the 44th minute. Due to a lack of lights at the neutral facility, the game could not be resumed after the inclement weather had passed.
NSU will take their 1-0 record into West Alabama Monday at 7 p.m. to end the Sharks' season-opening road trip.
