FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
The No. 14 Nova Southeastern University women's basketball team heads to Winter Park, Florida on Saturday afternoon, taking on Rollins at the Alfond Sports Center at 2 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Sharks (18-3, 10-1 SSC) won a battle of the league's top two teams to that point, 71-64 over Florida Tech. That pushed their Sunshine State Conference lead to two games, ahead of both FIT and Florida Southern. That same night, Rollins (9-10, 4-6 SSC) nearly overcame a large late deficit, but eventually fell to Eckerd, 65-61. The Tars are currently seventh in the league standings.

Five players had 10 or more points in NSU's most recent win, the first time since November of 2014 that that many Sharks scored in double digits. Kayla Wright (Jr., Lauderhill, Fla.) was the leader against FIT with 14, and her 15.5 points per contest leads the squad and is third-best among conference players. She also continues to pace the league in field goal percentage, upping it to 58.9 percent after a 6-of-9 shooting line.

The Tars' leading scorer is Julia Ingler, 11.5 a game. She is also the team leader in all shooting percentages (field goal, free throw and 3-point) and 3-pointers made. Their top showing among individuals in the league is guard Tanaya Jones' two steals per game, ranking her third.

Earlier this year in Fort Lauderdale, the Sharks were 10-point winners, 65-55. Molly Blomer (Sr., West Chester, Ohio) went for 20 points, Monaye Merritt (R-Sr., Philadelphia, Pa.) had 19 along with eight assists, and Wright contributed 15 points and eight rebounds. Marie Gilbert was the only Rollins player in double digits at 15. The Sharks totaled their season low in turnovers, nine, while forcing 15, along with a 21-4 points-off-turnover advantage.

The Sharks have won the last three in the series, and eight of 11, dropping the Tars' all-time advantage to 23-13.
