FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – No. 4 Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team (15-3, 6-2 SSC) begins postseason play on Friday when it faces No. 5 Lynn University (19-3, 6-2 SSC) in the Sunshine State Conference semifinals. The match will be hosted by the University of Tampa at 9 a.m. at the Hillsborough Community College Tennis Complex in Tampa, Florida.
 
The Sharks, the No. 2 seed in the SSC, most recently dropped a tough match against neighborhood rivals No. 6 Barry on April 21 by a score of 6-3. Previously the Sharks visited Lynn in Boca Raton, Florida and came out victorious, 5-4. Looking forward to bouncing back and continuing their postseason run, the Sharks will need to beat the Fighting Knights once again to advance to the SSC Championship.
 
No. 5 Lynn swept the Rollins Tars 5-0 in SSC quarterfinal play on Thursday. The Fighting Knights have increased their winning streak to six games and will have little rest before facing the Sharks on Friday morning.
 
On Wednesday, the most recent update on ITA national rankings was published, bumping the Sharks team to the No. 4 spot and Klaudia Boczova (Jr., Bratislava, Slovakia) to the No. 2 position in singles. Sabrina Kierberg (Sr., Munich, Germany) went from being unranked to taking the No. 19 singles rank. Petra Jurova (Sr., Bratislava, Slovakia) maintained her place as the No. 28 singles player in the nation, while Boczova and Kierberg partnered up to position themselves as No. 5 doubles team in NCAA Division II.
 
The winner between the Sharks and the Fighting Knights will advance to the SSC Final against the winner of No. 6 Barry and No. 2 Saint Leo on Saturday, April 30 at 9 a.m. A link to live stats of all matches has been provided atop this page.
