FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University baseball team (22-11, 11-4 SSC) will travel to Palm Beach Atlantic (17-18) this weekend to take on the Sailfish in a three-game series. The first game will be played Friday night at 6:00 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday that will begin at noon.
The Sharks are currently one of the hottest team in the country, taking their #RedHot movement to heart with 11 wins in their last 12 games.
Andres Visbal and
Daniel Zardon have left the yard five times over the 12-game stretch, while
Brandon Gomez has contributed four home runs of his own, including three against Barry last weekend. Jancarlos Cintron has been the Sharks' hottest hitter in the last twelve games, hitting .386 with 17 hits, three of which have been gone over the wall.
On the mound,
Alex Mateo and
Julian Loret de Mola have dominated the last few weekends, combining for six wins.
Devin Raftery has been just as dominant, tossing 7.2 innings in relief since March 15
th, allowing one earned run while striking out 12 batters.
The Sharks will send Mateo,
Matt Hardy, and Loret de Mola to the mound against the Sailfish this weekend. PBA is hitting .296 as a team and is averaging less than six runs per game against Sunshine State Conference opponents.
