FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Andrew Liberty's career night was overshadowed by a rare home defeat for No. 1 Nova Southeastern as the Sharks were upset 14-10 by Felician Tuesday.
Liberty fell just a triple shy of the cycle in a 4-for-5 performance at the plate, finishing with a career-high seven runs batted in. The redshirt junior's RBI total is the most by a Shark in a single game since Michael Melendez recorded eight in an 11-6 win against Tampa back on April 27, 2013.
Liberty put forth his best effort to lead the attempted comeback against the Golden Falcons. His three-run blast put Nova Southeastern on the board in the fourth before notching a bases-clearing double only an inning later. Liberty's ninth-inning single even prolonged the ball game, but the Sharks' early 8-0 deficit proved to be too much.
Entering the night with two homers thus far in 2017, Felician's Brennan Price matched his previous season total with a pair of three-run blasts through three innings of action. Price's second long ball was followed up by a two-run homer by leftfielder Matt Diesel to give the Falcons a major confidence boost on the road.

Kevin Suarez closed the gap to within a manageable four runs in the home half of the seventh. However, Liberty's ninth-inning single was the only sort of damage the Sharks would do the rest of the way.
Jeremy Vasquez tallied two hits in the contest to keep his batting average hovering above .500 on the year. The first baseman has now registered multi-hit efforts in 12 of the 17 games he's appeared in this season.
NSU will look to rebound on the road in an anticipated series versus third-ranked South Carolina-Aiken. Game one is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. ET. For complete coverage the action, log onto
