FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Luicelena Perez finished the regular season undefeated in singles as the Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team (9-8, 5-4 SSC) ended the regular season with a four-match win streak after defeating Embry-Riddle (2-13) by a score of 5-4 at the NSU Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Luicelena Perez) for going undefeated in singles (16-0) and hats off to our No. 2 and 3 doubles teams for winning those close matches. Those two were the difference between a win and a loss."
The Sharks took a 3-0 advantage in the singles matches after sweeping doubles for the third time this season. Perez and
Isabella Lowrey got the Sharks on the board first with an 8-3 win over Maud Mrad and Alexis Marshall in the top-flight. The win also increases the duo's win streak to five.
Simone Pratt and
Alex Kaeser rallied to pick up the win at No. 2, defeating Maria Turrillo and Kathryn Bock, 8-6. Eva Agsse and
Arina Sharonova secured the sweep holding off Lydia Carter and Ana Gonzalez, 8-6.
The Eagles picked up their first singles point after a defeat at No. 6. Pratt answered with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Georgina Wood at No. 2. Shortly after, Perez sealed the win and an undefeated season defeating Mrad, 6-1, 6-2. Embry-Riddle would claim wins at No. 3, 4 and 5 but the Sharks had enough wins to come out victorious.
With Saint Leo losing to Lynn on Friday, the Sharks locked up the fourth seed in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament and will face Rollins in the quarterfinals on Thursday, Apr. 20 at 3:30 p.m.
