INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, Fla. – Nova Southeastern women's tennis was perfect in the second day of action on Saturday at the Florida Tech Panther Women's Clay Court Invitational, earning an 8-0 record in matches with Saint Petersburg College and Florida Southern at Eau Gallie Yacht Club.
Day 2 Recap
Doubles
- For the second match in the tournament, freshman Natalie Espinal worked with junior Sarah Wardenburg for the Flight A doubles victory, topping Saint Petersburg College's Saki Matsubara and Anastasiya Salenko 6-1, 6-1.
- In doubles Flight B, junior Isabella Lowrey and freshman Dianne Follett-Arbelet triumphed over SPC's Maja Rulj and Ann Kathrin Wirlitsch 6-3, 6-1 for their first win of the weekend.
- In the C Flight, sophomore Alexandra Yeardley and freshman Kaitlyn Khan collected their first doubles win in Indian Harbour Beach, completing the NSU doubles sweep with a win over SPC's Jessica Delarosa-Zimring and Abigail Turnquest 6-3, 6-4.
Singles
· Espinal continues to impress and remained perfect with an individual victory over Salenko 6-3,6-1, getting NSU started with a win in Flight A.
· Wardenburg tallied her first singles win of the weekend with a 6-0, 6-1 win over SPC's Matsubara in Flight B.
· Follin-Arbelet added her first win in Flight C, topping Wirlitsch in a 6-1, 6-1 win.
· Khan produced her second win of the year and first of the weekend, pushing past Rulj in Flight D with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
· Yeardley logged her second singles win at Florida Tech and completed a perfect day for the Sharks, earning the 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 tiebreaker victory over Florida Southern's Gabby Hesse in Flight E.
