No. 14 Sharks Fall to No. 3 Keiser, 8-1

Lowrey picks up lone win for the Sharks

Box Score FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – 2017 doubles All-American, Isabella Lowrey scored the only point for the No. 14 Nova Southeastern women's tennis team as the Sharks fell to the No. 3 Keiser Seahawks by a score of 8-1 on opening day at the NSU Tennis Complex.

DOUBLES
  • NSU's Eva Agasse and Alex Yeardley jumped to an early 2-0 lead at No. 3, but Kesier's pair of Lorene Foerste and Ana Pinto grabbed the next eight points to win, 8-2.
  • After trailing 4-0, Andrea Ivanovic and Daniella Obando fought back to tie the No. 1 doubles team in the country 4-4. Megane Bianco and Daniela Farafn however, would take the set, 8-4, scoring four unanswered points.
  • The Seahawks secured the sweep after the Julianna Heino and Aleksandra Grela came back from 5-2 down to win at No. 2 doubles, 9-7.
SINGLES
  • Similar to doubles, the Seahawks got off to a quick start as Pinto defeated Agasse, 6-2, 6-2 increasing their lead to 5-0.
  • Keiser would claim victory shortly after as eighth-ranked, Farfan claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Navas in the top-flight.
  • No. 2 Bianco, No. 17 Heino and No. 27 Grela picked up three more points at the second, third fourth slots for the Seahawks, bringing their lead to 8-0.
  • Lowrey prevented the shutout, grabbing the only point for the Sharks with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Foerste.
