Prasse Earns SSC Honors After Historical Week

Prasse grabs second weekly award of her career

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has awarded Nova Southeastern women's basketball starting guard Christen Prasse Player of the Week honors after posting back-to-back triple-doubles in wins over Palm Beach Atlantic and Embry-Riddle.
 
Prasse became the first player in Nova Southeastern women's basketball program history with multiple triple-doubles in her career. The Naperville, Ill. native earned her first career triple-double with 10 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds during a 95-70 road win at Palm Beach Atlantic before recording her second during an 82-61 victory over Embry-Riddle where she led all players with 10 rebounds and 10 assists in addition to her 11 points.
 
In 66 minutes of action, Prasse scored 21 points by shooting 47 percent from the field (8-of-17), 43 percent from three (3-of-7), and 100 percent from the line (2-of-2), while also recording 24 assists, 22 rebounds, and four steals.
 
She is just the fourth NCAA Div. II women's basketball player since 2003 to record two or more triple-doubles in a row. (3 - Sade Jackson, Adelphi University, November 14- 25, 2013; 2 - Tia Scott, Merrimack College, January 6 - 9, 2016; 2 - Jazmine Stubblefield, Montevallo University, January 11 - 14, 2017.
 
The Sharks will travel to Miami Shores to face off against Barry on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
