HOW IT HAPPENED:
Rollins opened up their scoring day in the first inning after Kyle Hintz led off the frame with a single and worked around to steal home. However, it was the second scoring inning that proved the difference in the outcome, tacking up five runs in the third – capped by Cameron Meehan, who logged a two-run triple and then scored on a wild pitch.
In quick response,
Christian Demby registered a fourth-inning RBI double to put NSU on the board.
Andrew Labosky halved the Tars' lead in the top of the fifth, smacking a two-run homer to right field to make the score 6-3.
However, the Tars added a pair of runs in back-to-back frames, growing their lead out to 10-3 in the fifth and sixth.
Although
Joe Raffaele added a two-run double in the top of the eighth and
Bryan Diaz scored the sixth run on a fielder's choice, the Sharks couldn't quite close the gap on the early Rollins lead, falling 10-6.
