MELBOURNE, Fla. – For the second time already this month, Nova Southeastern freshman Louise Matsgard has been named the Sunshine State Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
Matsgard continued her impressive play as of late, tallying a pair of goals in NSU's come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over Eckerd this past Saturday. With the Sharks trailing 1-0 at early in the second half, the Swede scored twice in a span of 4:56 to give NSU a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Matsgard has now scored a combined four goals in the Sharks' last four matches – all in SSC play.
In the midst of a two-game win streak, the Sharks sit just one game out first at 4-2 in the SSC standings.
Matsgard and the Sharks will return to the pitch this Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they host rival Barry. For complete coverage of the action, visit the schedule page on NSUSharks.com, or follow the Sharks on Instagram and Twitter at @NSU_WSoccer.
