MELBOURNE, Fla. – Following a strong performance in his 2021 season debut, Nova Southeastern senior Victor Jimenez has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
The award marks the first of Jimenez's career.
Competing as an individual in a 12-team field that featured 11 NCAA Division I programs, Jimenez earned a share of 16th - the second-best finish of his career - at the Southern Invitational in Lake Worth, Fla. with a 54-hole score of even par. The Spaniard posted a two-over par effort to open the tournament, yet responded with rounds of (-2) 70 and (E) 72 in what was his first event of the young season. As a team, the Sharks collectively placed sixth.
