Sharks Rally Back from Brink, Earn win against Rollins

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks rallied after being down two sets to none to take down the Rollins Tars in five sets on Saturday evening from Rick Case Arena (25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-9).

HOW IT HAPPENED

· After trailing in the early portion of the first set, the Sharks rallied in the middle portion of the set, going on a 7-0 run. The run featured two service aces from Madison Cook and kills from Kate Mihacevich and Taylor Stockman.

· Despite their best efforts towards the end of the set, the Sharks dropped set one to the Tars 25-23.

· In set two, the Sharks rallied late, going on a four-point run to get within three points of the Tars. The run featured two kills from Taylor Stockman. However, the Sharks ultimately dropped set two, 25-21.

· The Sharks switched it into gear in set three, taking a dominant 9-4 lead early, which featured a 5-0 run. During the run, Kate Mihacevich recorded two service aces, and Jordan Chessar and Taylor Stockman both recorded kills.

· The Sharks went on to win set three 25-17.

· Set four saw more of the same dominance from the Sharks, as they went on a 5-0 run in the middle of the set. The run featured two kills each from Olivia Aniol and Julia Bernardes.

· Later in the set, NSU went on a 7-0 run, which included two service aces from Bruna Avila, and kills from Kate Mihacevich and Taylor Stockman. Thanks to the dominant run, the Sharks took set four 25-16.

· The Sharks opened set five on fire, going up 11-5. During that period, Jordan Chessar, Bruna Avila, and Preslee Brooksbank all recorded service aces, while Taylor Stockman recorded three kills.

· Set five ended with a kill from Kate Mihacevich to secure the set and match win.

STAT OF THE NIGHT

· Stockman (16 kills), Bernardes (11), and Mihacevich (10) led the Sharks in kills.

The Sharks are back in action next weekend as they take part in the South Region Crossover.
