#6 Sharks Battle Elements in First Round of Southeastern Challenge

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Nova Southeastern Men's Golf team teed off at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate challenge on Monday. The sixth-ranked Sharks battled the elements, before the day was rained out, and through the first round of action, sit in a tie for fifth-place (+1).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Despite battling the elements, Joseba Torres had the best day for the Sharks and sits inside the top-10. Torres recorded three birdies in the first round, shooting an even-par. Before being rained out, Torres added two more birdies and was bogey free and was at -2, through nine holes.
  • Michael Hay (E) ended Monday's action at an even-par and inside the top-20 of the standings. Hay birdied his first hole and ended the first round at +1. Hay will pick up tomorrow and has recorded four birdies so far in his second round.
  • Emanuel Olofsson (+2) birdied his first hole of the day and has only bogeyed three holes.
  • Will O'Neill, after having a tough time finding his groove in the first round, recorded three consecutive birdies before the rain ended the day.
 
UPCOMING
The No. 6 Sharks will conclude their second round and final rounds of action from the First Federal Southeastern Challenge on Tuesday, March 14.
