WARREN, Ohio – The Division II Men's Golf National Championship tee'd off on Monday afternoon from the Avalon Lakes Golf Course. After one round, the sixth-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks are in 14^th place (+10), with Josep Serra pacing the Sharks at +1.

Will O'Neill got off to a strong start. O'Neill was one-stroke under-par after the first four holes and added two more birdies on the front-nine. O'Neill concluded his round at +2.

Josep Serra (+1), totaled five birdies on the day, including birdieing 3-of-5 holes from 11-15 on the back-nine.

Joseba Torres bounced back after opening his round with a pair of bogeys by recording three birdies across four holes. Torres parred five consecutive holes from 8-12 and ended his first round at +3.

Michael Hay recorded an eagle on the fifth-hole, a 343-yard par-4, and finished the day at +4.

Daniel Celestino ended the opening round at +5.
