LAKELAND, Fla. - Following the first two rounds of action at the Matlock Collegiate Classic, the Nova Southeastern Sharks (+3) are tied for third overall in the 15-team field. Michael Hay (T7th/-2), Will McGhie (T10th/-1), and Joseba Torres (T13th/E) are inside the top-15 for the tournament standings.

• Starting on the tenth-hole, Michael Hay began the tournament with pars on 5-of-6 holes and birdied two consecutive holes before making the turn. On the front-nine, Hay added three more birdies, including one to close out his opening round by shooting a 70 (-2). 
• In the second round, Hay recorded birdies on 4-of-5 holes, heading into the turn at -3. On the front-nine, Hay closed the afternoon with one additional birdie but also four bogeys. 
• Will McGhie began the round with a pair of both birdies and bogeys on the back-nine. Following the turn, McGhie parred four consecutive holes and added another pair of birdies, closing the opening round at an even-par. 
• McGhie then added three more birdies during the second round and totaled 13 pars. 
• Joseba Torres tallied seven pars on the back-nine in his opening round and added three birdies, finishing the first round at 71 (-1). 
• In his second round, Torres birdied back-to-back holes to begin the round, and finished with a 73. 
• Jorge Berea (T37th/+6) recorded a total of five birdies and 20 pars. 
• Ivan Ponsdomenech (74th/+17) totaled an 81 and 80 across both of his rounds.

Head Coach Joey Marino - "The guys got off to a great start in some bad weather conditions. We got within a few shots of the lead but struggled to finish the second round. Tomorrow we have a great opportunity to climb the leaderboard. I am excited to see how we play."


The Sharks will conclude the Matlock Collegiate Classic on Tuesday, February 6th. NSU will tee off at 8:30 a.m.
