LAKELAND, Fla. - Nova Southeastern's Emilio Gonzalez was named NCBWA South Region Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. The junior earned this honor after being named SSC Baseball Player of the Week on Monday by the league office.

Gonzalez powered Nova Southeastern offensively in the Sharks' three-game sweep of Lynn. He batted .429 (6-for-14) with three home runs, one double, six runs-batted in, and four runs scored, delivering a home run in all three contests. Gonzalez became the first Shark to homer in each game of a three-game series since 2022 while recording multi-hit performances in all three outings. 

During the season, Gonzalez led Nova Southeastern with nine home runs, 12 doubles and 50 RBIs, becoming a force in the Sharks' lineup.
