Hranacova and Markus Earn All-Conference Selections

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced on Wednesday afternoon that Nova Southeastern Tennis would have two All-SSC honorees.

After spending a majority of the spring season ranked No. 1 in doubles, both Kristyna Hranacova and Katja Markus have been named to All-SSC selections.

In singles, Hranacova was named to the All-SSC First Team while head coach Doug Neagle's No. 2 singles flight, Katja Markus was named to the All-SSC Second Team.

The pair was named together to the All-SSC First Team for doubles.

Hranacova has spent a majority of the year ranked No. 1 in both singles and doubles in the rankings published by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and had a near perfect SSC Tournament after dominating her opponents in singles from Florida Southern and Barry and going unfinished in her match against the ITA's No. 2 Salma Djoubri of Lynn.

She adds the pair of SSC distinctions to having already been named Nova Southeastern's Female Golden Shark at the 2026 Sharky's Awards.

Markus is a All-SSC Second Team singles selection after her season at No. 2 for the Sharks. She ranks 41st in the ITA's singles rankings and had nine straight singles victories from March 3 to April 3.

The pairing is 25-3 in doubles including an ITA Cup Championship back in October, just the third time a pairing from Nova Southeastern has won it. Hranacova and Markus beat pairings from Auburn-Montgomery, West Florida, Lynn, Barry and Saint Leo to win the Cup.

The pair rides a seven-match winning streak heading into the NCAA South Region Tournament.

Kristyna Hranacova and Katja Markus are back in action in both singles and doubles play in the first round of the NCAA South Region Tournament where the Sharks take on the Argonauts of West Florida in the first round. West Florida is ranked No. 2 as a team nationally while Nova Southeastern is ranked No. 4 in a stacked South Region. The winner between the Sharks and Argonauts advances to take on the winner of Tuskegee or host, Embry-Riddle.
