FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (December 8, 2006) - West Florida forward Abena Bosia registered a double-double with 11 points and 21 rebounds as the visiting Argonauts (6-4) held off a second-half comeback by Nova Southeastern (1-4) to defeat the Sharks by a score of 58-49 on Friday night.

In the first half, NSU built a five-point lead with 9:59 remaining but the Argonauts went on a 22-7 run, capped off by a scoop shot in the lane by guard Karmeisha Easley with two seconds left in the half.

In the second half, the Sharks were down 47-24 with 9:26 remaining but a layup by NSU center Fabienne Bain (Jr., Longueuil, Quebec, Canada) started the Sharks on a 21-6 run to make it an eight point game with 3:04 remaining.

Argos' head coach Shannan Bergen took a strategic timeout and West Florida held on for the nine point victory.

For the Sharks, forward Jennifer Havens (Sr., Ontario, Oregon) led the way with 14 points while swingman Amber Bishko (Jr., Orlando, Fla.) scored nine points and snatched eight rebounds.

NSU will be back in action on Sunday, December 10 at 2pm as they travel to Saint Leo, Fla. to take on the Saint Leo Lions in the Sharks' first Sunshine State Conference game of the season.
