ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 13, 2007) - Forward Amber Bishko (Jr., Orlando, Fla.) registered 17 points and 13 rebounds as four Sharks scored in double figures, carrying Nova Southeastern (4-11, 3-2 SSC) over the Eckerd College Tritons (4-11, 0-5 SSC) by a score of 67-55 on Saturday afternoon.
In a game that featured seven ties and seven lead changes, NSU trailed Eckerd, 46-43, with 9:26 remaining. A three-pointer by guard Eliza Allen (So., Hegenheim, France) would spark a 24-15 NSU run over the remainder of the game with NSU taking its largest lead of the game, 13, on a couple of free throws by forward Jennifer Havens (Sr., Ontario, Ore.) with 36 seconds left.
For the game, the Sharks shot 41.4 percent from the field, including 48 percent in the second half, while Eckerd was held 36.5 percent for the game.
In addition to Bishko's double-double, Mechelle Jones (Sr., Rockledge, Fla.) added 15 points, while going 4-7 from beyond the arc. Havens and Allen both finished with 10 points while Allen added seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks.
NSU will be back in action on Wednesday, January 17 as they host the Lynn Fighting Knights at 5:30pm in the University Center Arena.
