BOCA RATON, Fla. (February 14, 2007) - Lynn forward Rae Rae Fripp scored a career-high 24 points as the Fighting Knights (14-10, 6-7 SSC) defeated the Nova Southeastern Sharks (9-16, 7-7 SSC) by a score of 79-64 on Wednesday night.

Early on, NSU kept the game close, including a traditional three-point play converted by forward Jennifer Havens (Sr., Ontario, Ore.) to tie the game at 13-13 with 13:21 remaining in the half. Lynn would explode, however, for a 30-14 run to end the half on top, 43-30.

In the opening frame, Lynn shot 60 percent from the field on 18 of 30 field goals while NSU shot a very respectable 48 percent. In addition to Lynns torrid shooting, the Sharks committed 18 turnovers in a half that saw 32 turnovers between the two teams.

Sharks' guard Mechelle Jones (Sr., Rockledge, Fla.) scored five consecutive points to start the second half, cutting the deficit to eight but the Fighting Knights would recover and hang on to win by 15.

Havens finished with a game-high 26 points (including 10 for 10 from the free-throw line) and eight boards while Jones finished with 15 points.

For the game, Lynn shot 52.5 percent from the field while NSU shot at a 47.1 percent clip. NSU would finish with 34 turnovers while Lynn outscored the Sharks' bench 27-4.

NSU will be back in action on Saturday, February 17 as they travel to Melbourne, Fla. to face the Panthers of Florida Tech at 2pm. The game can be heard on the NSU Athletics Audiocast Network. The game can also be seen online via Florida Tech's video streaming at gopanthers.fit.edu.
