Sharks Fall 57-41 At Tampa In SSC Regular Season Finale

NSU Struggles From The Field In Loss To Spartans

TAMPA, Fla. (February 24, 2007) - The Nova Southeastern University women's basketball team fell by a 57-41 score in their SSC regular season finale at Tampa on Saturday evening.

NSU was limited by their 23.1% (12-52) shooting from the floor while Tampa shot 36.4 (20-55) for the game. The Spartans out-rebounded the Sharks 43-36.

Trailing just 32-23 at the half, the Sharks were shut down offensively in the second half. NSU was held to just 18 second half points while shooting 15.4%(4-26) from the floor.

Forwards Jennifer Havens (Sr., Ontario, Ore.) and Eliza Allen (Jr., Hegenheim, France) led NSU with 10 points apiece. Havens and guard Ashley Wilson were tied for the team lead with seven rebounds.

Alexa Kane led the Spartans with 14 points and seven rebounds while Sheena Walton posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Sharks, who finished sixth in Sunshine State Conference play, await this very same Tampa team in the first round of the conference tournament to be held at Lynn University from February 28th-March 4th in Boca Raton, Fla.
