FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (February 20, 2008) - Stephanie Sarosi (So., Mims, Fla.) scored 21 points and 11 rebounds while Amber Bishko (Sr., Orlando, Fla.) added 19 points as the Nova Southeastern Sharks (18-6, 11-2 SSC) defeated the Rollins Tars (15-9, 5-8) by a score of 67-64 on Wednesday night at NSU's University Center Arena. Bishko led the Sharks with six points in the overtime period. With the win, NSU maintains its half-game lead over Tampa atop the SSC standings with three games left to play.

In a first half that saw three lead changes, a layup by Rollins' Rachael Malatesta gave the Tars a 17-16 lead with 8:29 left in the frame. NSU would promptly go on to outscore Rollins 14-12 to close out the half, starting with a made three by Ashley Wilson (Sr., Coral Springs, Fla.). Jennifer Musgrove hit a three with 20 seconds left to shave NSU's lead to 30-29 at the half.

In the second half, Sarosi scored 13 points to help NSU lead for the entirety of the frame until the 1:05 mark when Jessica Pressley hit a three to tie the game. NSU's Eliza Allen (Jr., Hegenheim, France) had a chance to win the game, taking a three with two seconds left but the teams would go into overtime tied at 56.

In the extra frame, Pressley hit another of her six threes to give Rollins a 59-56 lead but Bishko followed by attacking the basket and scoring six of the game's next eight points, giving NSU a 62-61 lead with 1:26 remaining. With 29 seconds remaining, Allen put the nail in the coffin, knocking down a three to give the Sharks a 65-61 lead. Allen would make two free throws to put the game on ice with 12 seconds left. Musgrove hit a three with six seconds left to shrink NSU's lead to 67-64 but it was all in vain as the Tars could not get the ball back.

In addition to Sarosi and Bishko's efforts, Allen recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds to go along with eight assists while Wilson also scored 11 points.

Pressley led the Tars with 20 points and six field goals, all of which came from downtown. Musgrove added 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

NSU outshot Rollins 39.7 percent from the field to 37.9. NSU also outrebounded the Tars 44-35.

NSU will return to the hardwood on Saturday, February 23 as they host the Lynn Fighting Knights at 5:30pm at the University Center Arena. Before the game, NSU will honor the five seniors on the squad, Bishko, Wilson, Brittany Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Tia Evenson (Neodesha, Kan.) and Christine Haber (Libertyville, Ill.).
