FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After winning its first Sunshine State Conference game on Wednesday, the Nova Southeastern University women’s basketball team (8-3, 1-1 SSC) looks to keep the ball rolling against the Saint Leo Lions (7-6, 0-3 SSC) Saturday, Jan. 8th at 2 p.m. in the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center.
The Sharks are coming off a win against a tough Florida Tech team in which they downed the Panthers, 75-69. Senior center Stephanie Sarosi (Mims, Fla.) recorded her second straight double-double as she was the Sharks’ leading scorer with 20 points and the games leader with 14 rebounds.
Playing in her 100th game as a Shark, senior Abbie Tepe (Cincinnati, Ohio) will also look to hit her 100th three pointer against the Lions.
With another 70+ game, the Sharks sit third in the conference averaging 71.7 ppg. NSU still holds the top spot in blocked shots per game with 6.2 with Sarosi and Jasmine Wilkins (Fr., Miami, Fla.) in the top-10 in the SSC standings.
Junior Jada Buckner (Loudon, Tenn.) moved to fourth in the SSC averaging 44 percent this season from behind the arc.
