WINTER PARK, Fla. – After a week that saw the Nova Southeastern women’s basketball team victorious in two games and move into first place in the Sunshine State Conference, the league offices have announced that guard Danielle Robinson has been named SSC Player of the Week presented by VALIC.
Robinson (So., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists and 3.5 steals per game in wins over Rollins and Lynn. She shot 52 percent (11-for-21) on field goal attempts, made 50 percent (5-for-10) of her 3-pointers, and was a solid 81 percent (13-of-16) from the free throw line.
On the season, the team’s captain is fifth in the conference in scoring (14.2 points per game) and also in steals (2.3). She ranks seventh in the SSC in 3-point percentage (34.7%) and 3-pointers made per game (1.8). She is the only Shark to start all 24 games.
The Sharks are now 10-4 in conference play, a half-game ahead of Lynn with two games left on the NSU schedule. They take on Florida Tech this Wednesday night, with tip off from Melbourne at 5:30.
