FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – On Saturday afternoon, the Nova Southeastern women's basketball team will host fellow Sunshine State Conference member Barry University in the newly-named Rick Case Arena, kicking off the second half of their SSC slate. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
The Sharks (10-7, 6-3 SSC) fell to Eckerd on Wednesday, 64-52, in the Tritons' home gym.
Maria Bardeeva was the only Shark to reach double digits in scoring, tallying 11 points while adding four rebounds.
Katie Barnard and
Samantha Logan each posted eight points while Barnard contributed two assists and Logan had a team-high five rebounds, shared with
Amanda Tivenius.
Saturday afternoon's game will serve as the series finale, as the Sharks dismantled the Buccaneers (4-13, 2-7 SSC) 71-46 last November.
Christen Prasse topped all Sharks in scoring with 15 points and added eight rebounds and seven assists. Bardeeva and Piggott joined Prasse in double-digit figures, each putting up 11 points apiece.
On the Bucs' side, Barbara Cousino led all scorers with 16 points and had a team-high nine rebounds. Lauren Seyranian also put up double figures, tallying 12 points.
Kiara Palmer and Seyranian are the Bucs' leading scorers so far this season, averaging 13.1 and 10.6 points a game, respectively.
