FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's basketball team looks to sweep the regular-season series over the Tampa Spartans this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Rick Case Arena.
In its first road Sunshine State Conference matchup this past November, the Sharks (11-7, 7-3 SSC) defeated the Spartans (13-4, 8-2 SSC) 58-52.
Samantha Logan was a point shy of a double-double, attempting only three-point field goals to go with her ten boards.
Amanda Tivenius tallied 13 points and
Christen Prasse had a career-high 10 assists.
Faith Sanders led all Spartans with 15 points, three rebounds, and went 7-12 from the field, while Karma Jeremie and Elena de Alfredo were the next leading point scorers, both contributing 13 points.
Sitting a spot ahead of the Sharks in the SSC poll, Tampa currently leads the league in field-goal shooting, connecting 48.4 percent of the time. De Alfredo also sits in the No. 2 spot in the overall scoring chart, averaging a whopping 16.7 points-per-game, while earning the top-spot against conference opponents with 18.7 points-per-game. On the other side, Jeremie pulls down on average 6.2 defensive rebounds a game, and a total of 8.3 boards per game.
