MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The five select members of the Nova Southeastern Men's track and field squad continued in the Tarheel State on Sunday, wrapping up the season with some key performances at the UMO Last Chance Qualifier Meet. The Sharks registered one school record and bolstered postseason opportunities in the final regular season competition.
RUNNING EVENTS
- One day after finishing first at the first UMO meet, freshman Michael Parry again delivered gold for the Sharks in the 800m, producing a school-record 1:51.38 for the top spot.
- Junior Ian Nieves registered a new season best in the 110m hurdles, coming in at 14.34 during the preliminary, later coming in fifth in the final with a time of 14.41.
RELAY EVENTS
- The men's 4x100m relay (comprised of Nieves, freshman Timothy Young, sophomore Zaheem Anderson and senior Eric Moate) moved up to 16th nationally, improving their time to 40.75 with an event-winning performance.
UP NEXT: With all selections likely to be made by Tuesday, the Sharks earning a spot in the NCAA DII Track and Field Championships will head out to nationals, May 23-25 in Kingsville, Texas.
