Carvalho Leads Sharks to Second-Place Finish at Ralph Hayes Toyota D2 Elite Invitational

TOCCOA, GA. – The Nova Southeastern University Women's Golf team finished in second place (+17/373/381) at the Ralph Hayes Toyota D2 Elite Invitational to close out the Fall portion of their season. Ariana Carvalho won the event, finishing three-under.

How it Happened
  • Ariana Carvalho (-3/70/71) shot three birdies and five pars during the front nine of her first round, after hitting the turn Carvalho added three birdies and four pars to her total. Returning to play in the third round Carvalho carried over the early momentum by tallying five birdies and 10 pars. Carvalho finished the tournament as the top individual player at three-under.
  • Alexandra Remaklus (+2/72/74) began the tournament with four consecutive pars, adding a birdie and two pars as she completed the front nine. Entering the back nine Remaklus added two birdies and six pars to her total. Remaklus began the third round with a great showing, shooting a birdie and eight pars on the front nine, she tallied seven pars on the back nine, finishing the tournament two-over.
  • Maria Torres Lobato (+5/73/76) began the tournament with six pars on the front nine, following the turn Torres Lobato shot bogey free with a pair of birdies. In the third round Torres Lobato added two birdies and 11 pars, as she finished the tournament five-over.
  • Rosanna Halls (+13/78/79) totaled three birdies and 2 pars between the two rounds of play, shooting 13-over for the tournament.
  • Mei Chan (+17/80/81) tallied a pair of birdies and 19 pars through her two rounds of the tournament, finishing 17-over.
