ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University Men's golf team began the fall portion of the season in the Jay Jennison Cup at World Golf Village on Monday morning. The Sharks shot six-over after the first round, led by
Bruno Marques (-2) and
Ivan Ponsdomenech (-1).

- Bruno Marques (-2/70) began the tournament with an excellent first round with a pair of birdies on holes one and four, Marques tallied five consecutive pars to head into the turn even. Marques kept that momentum into the back nine with six total pars, an eagle on the 14th hole and a birdie, finishing the round two-under.
- Ivan Ponsdomenech (-1/71) opened the day with five consecutive pars, adding another at the turn. Ponsdomenech hit his stride on the back nine, shooting four birdies and five pars to close the round at one-under.
- James Humphries (+4/76) tallied a birdie on the first hole of the day and four pars through the front nine. Humphries added another birdie and six pars on the back nine to close out the round four-over.
- Elias Mardeni (+5/77) opened his day with a birdie and three pars in consecutive order, collecting another birdie on hole nine. Mardeni added another birdie and six pars on the back nine, completing his day at five-over.
- Mateo Desmond (+9/81) totaled three pars on the front nine. Desmond then found a rhythm on the back nine, shooting par on eight of the nine holes and seven consecutive to conclude the round at nine-over.

The Sharks will continue play in the Jay Jennison Cup on Tuesday, Sept. 30
