NORMAN, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Association of America announced its NCAA Division II PING All-Region honorees with two golfers from Nova Southeastern amongst them.
The awards keep rolling in for the duo of
Bruno Marques and
Ivan Ponsdomenech as they have been announced by the GCAA to the NCAA Division II PING All-South Region Team.
The top duo this season from the South/Southeast Region Champions, Marques and Ponsdomenech represent two of 15 athletes in the South Region selected to the All-Region team. Nova Southeastern was one of just six schools to have an honoree in the South Region as well.
Both Marques and Ponsdomenech now move into GCAA PING All-America contention. First Team All-Americans will be announced in-person at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Boulder City, Nev. following the completion of the third round of stroke play on Wednesday, May 20. Remaining All-Americans will be announced by the GCAA at a later date.
Both golfers are currently competing at the NCAA National Championship as the Sharks try to gain ground and end the third round of stroke play in the top eight to advance to match play. After two rounds of competition the Sharks sit in ninth of 20 teams.
