Sharks Record Multiple Top-10 Finishes at Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational

LONGWOOD, Fla. – The #10 Nova Southeastern University Women's Golf team competed at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational (+37/375/402). Maria Torres-Lobato (+6) and Alexandra Remaklus (+8) both finished the tournament inside the top-10, and Ariana Carvalho (+9) finished inside the top-15.

How it Happened

  • Maria Torres-Lobato (+6/75/75) got off to a strong start in the first round with four pars and a birdie on the front nine. She added six pars and three bogeys on the back nine to finish the round in solid form. In the third round, Torres-Lobato recorded five pars and a birdie through the front nine, adding another four pars on the back nine. Her final round included a birdie, two bogeys and 13 pars, placing her 4th at six-over.
  • Alexandra Remaklus (+8/69/83) opened her tournament with a steady start, recording seven pars and two birdies in the front nine, adding eight pars and another birdie to her total. Continuing her momentum in the third round, Remaklus tallied four pars and four bogeys. On the back nine, she added an additional seven pars and a birdie, finishing the round strong, finishing the tournament in eighth place at eight-over.
  • Ariana Carvalho (+9/72/81) opened the tournament with a birdie, six consecutive pars and a bogey, adding ten pars after the turn. In round three, Carvalho tallied another birdie and seven pars She closed out her final round with a birdie, seven pars and ten bogeys, finishing the tournament at nine-over.
  • Lua Pousa Dacasa (+16/78/82) totaled two bogeys and seven pars through the front nine of her opening round, adding another five pars on the back nine. In round three, Pousa Dacasa got off to a fast start with three pars, followed by eight pars and a total of five bogeys through the remainder of the round, finishing the tournament at 16-over.
  • Mei Chan (+18/81/81) began her first round with five pars and 4 bogeys, throughout play on the front nine. On the back nine, Chan recorded four additional bogeys, three pars and a birdie. In round three, Chan tallied six pars through the front nine and added six bogeys on the back nine. Chan closed out her final round with a birdie and a total of eight pars, finishing the tournament at 18-over.
