Wall, Remaklus Headline All-SSC Honorees

ORLANDO, Fla. - After taking home Nova Southeastern Women's Golf's eighth team and individual Sunshine State Conference Championships, the awards keep rolling in. Alex Remaklus has been named the 2026 SSC Women's Golf Freshman of the Year and head coach Heather Wall has been named the conference's Coach of the Year.

Alex Remaklus wins Freshman of the Year after winning the Sunshine State Conference Individual Championship as the only golfer at the championships to shoot for par or better. She becomes the first Shark to win the award since Olivia Grønborg did so in 2023.

Head coach Heather Wall takes home the SSC's Coach of the Year award after guiding her team to back-to-back SSC Championships. It is the third time in her career in which she has won the SSC Coach of the Year award after doing so in both 2025 and 2018.

In addition to the two highlighted awards, the Sharks had a trio of golfers honored as part of an All-SSC team. Remaklus, in addition to being the SSC Freshman of the Year, also finds her name in the All-SSC First Team as the conference's individual champion. Both Ariana Carvalho and Maria Torres Lobato were named to the All-SSC Third Team for their efforts on the season for a nationally-ranked Nova Southeastern team that went on to win the conference meet in early April.

NSU Women's Golf returns to action for the NCAA South Regional on May 4-6 at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tenn. hosted by Lee University.
